Turkish Dishes: Otlu Somon (Salmon with Herbs)

Less than two months ago, we kicked our lazy bums to start something new for this year 2011 - it all started with the recipe of Baked Salmon I have learned during our most recent vacation in Istanbul.

Hoops, this is the Pinay wife, by the way - cooking! Hooray! I tried a different variety of the baking salmon - this time with herbs. So, it's called - Salmon with Herbs or Otlu Somon.

What you will need:
2 salmon fillets (about 7 ounce each)

For the marinade:
5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ lemon, squeezed
2 green onions, chopped
2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
a few sprigs of fresh mint, chopped
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp salt

marinade - oh so healthy and herb-y

before oven

Prepare the marinade by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl. Marinate the salmon fillets for 30 minutes and then bake in pre-heated oven at 180 deg C for 30 minutes.

after oven

Turk gave his thumbs up!
