Exploring Doha: New Parks in Aspire

The weather is changing, the heat is upon us! But before that, there is still time left for some great fun in the parks. There's the newly opened MIA Park and the fabulous park in Doha Zoo.

And, big hooray for the new parks in Aspire. This one is just behind the coffee shop close to the fountain.

A perfect place to leave kids so that they can used up all their energy!

There is also second new park just in front of the Grand Heritage Hotel Doha. We just love parks, especially the new ones - awesome equipment, clean and fun!

HURRY! Go to these parks and enjoy! Before it gets too hot!

Exploring Doha: MIA PARK

Now the most favorite Doha Parks for us is the MIA PARK! The husband and the kids want to go there EVERYDAY especially this term break period. We should include this in our list of our favorite Doha Parks. 

MIA Park opened last 6th January and since then lots of students and kids have enjoyed the park.

MIA Park is conveniently located right off the Corniche Road through the Port Road entrance; entrance is free of charge.  Visitors will be able to access the park through the parking area of the Museum of Islamic Art or they may park their vehicles at a new parking area adjacent to the Doha Port.

The future MIA Park operating hours to the public will be as follows: 

Sunday        1030 – 2300
Monday       1030 – 2300
Tuesday       CLOSED
Wednesday  1030 – 2300
Thursday     1200 – 2300
Friday          1400 – 2300
Saturday      1200 – 2300

When the kids were asked which is the best park in Doha, they would definitely say this park is the best. It just gets too crowded whenever there are school trips. Parking is difficult during peak hours but not every morning which is when the husband and kids are there all the time.

Exploring Doha: Doha Zoo

Time to go to Doha Zoo to enjoy the last few weeks (or days!) of blissful weather. We have raved about the different parks in Doha that we love! And yes, one of these parks is the Doha Zoo Kids Play area. We just love the play area's climb on facilities the slides included.

If you are thinking of visiting Doha Zoo before it gets too hot and humid, here are some details from the website:

DOHA ZOO VISITING HOURS:.

Morning Period: from Monday through Saturday for all
from 8:00 till 11:00 am except on Friday and Sunday morning.

Evening Period: it is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday (for all),Tuesday for Women and Children less than nine years old.
The Park is closed on Sundays for maintenance.
Time schedule: from 3:30 till 8:00 in summer / 2:30 till 7:00 in winter.

ENTRANCE FEES:.- Adults: (5) Riyals
- less than nine years old: (2) Riyals

Of course, we also enjoyed looking at all the animals in the zoo. Specially there's a new bear in town!

Of course, most of the animals were healthier five years ago and the cages for animals are simply animal abuse. How we wish that with Qatar's money, that the government would at least allocate some for the protection of animals in the zoo. But maybe they're getting there in  a few years or so. For the mean time, we can't boycott the zoo because of the Turknoy kids. Everytime we read books about animals, we just can't help it but travel a kilometer or two to the Doha Zoo. And not to mention enjoy the Doha Zoo Kids Play Area.
