We Turks do not eat much rice or I would say ''plain'' rice or steamed , sticky rice. So we just add other vegetables or meats into the pilav with herbs.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
What you will need:
3 medium size peeled fresh or canned tomato
4 cups of hot water
2 cups of rice
1 table spoon salt
2 table spoon butter
1 cube meat stock( optional) If you add the bullion, you do not need to add salt!
How to cook:
1- Allow two cups of rice to rest in warm water for 15 minutes
2- After melting butter in the hot pan , add diced tomato pieces for 5 minutes
3- Add 1 table spoon salt after that you should rinse the rice and add the mixture.
4- Pour 4 cups of hot water and let the mixture cook in the medium head until rice softens.
5- Rest the rice for 10 minutes before serving. You can also serve it with some yoghurt.
