Joining Mommy Moment Again!

Finally got a chance to join Mommy Moments again. There are a lot of milestones but these two videos are the most recent. Our two-year old learns to count and sing - and of course, our 5-year Kylie taught him. Ahh pure bliss for  Mommy!

Hope to catch up with other mommies out there!

Keep exploring!

Exploring Istanbul: Balcony of Istanbul

We were married in this place and going back and enjoying the night life with kids is just pure bliss.Balcony of Istanbul is  a really awesome view; the bar and restaurant is fantastic though, not really a five-star kind of fantastic. But it's definitely a happening place in Istanbul especially during weekends.

It is a dream come true for me to take the kids in this place since Kylie started to ask lots of question about marriage and weddings - no thanks to Disney stories. Of course, foreseeing palaces and white horses, she was very disappointed to see the bar and restaurant where we had our wedding reception. No, we were not married in a palace - we were married in Kartal Municipality for the civil wedding and at our parents' home for the Islamic wedding. But a man's house is his palace - so, if you think that way, we were married in a palace. Not appreciating the humor, it gave the princess kid more disappointment. Goodness, I hope Kerim won't share this phase.

So here goes my Mommy and Me moment during one fine night. Summer is just around the corner in this part of the world so I have to put that boots in storage until next winter. Note to self: Must get new power shoes.

Mommy Moments - Nothing's Gonna Change my Love for You

This song is not a classic for nothing. Rewind from those icky cheesy days of JS Prom, this song is very popular. When your crush asked you to ask when this song is played, he's definitely so into you. Oh boy!

Now, this song has completely different meaning, of course for me as a Mommy. It's just way too cute to here my kids sing this song. Well, when they were younger, I was humming Wheels on the bus at the office - so it's just fair that they get to learn this song for feeding Mommy's nostalgia. ;)

HERE GOES:

NOTHING'S GONNA CHANGE MY LOVE FOR YOU
(Sung and Applauded by the Turknoys, Kylie and Kerim while Mommy is driving around Doha)

If I had to live my life without you near me
The days would all be empty
The nights would seem so long
With you I see forever oh so clearly
I might have been in love before
But it never felt this strong
Our dreams are young
And we both know they'll take us
Where we want to go

Hold me now
Touch me now
I don't want to live without you

Nothing's gonna change my love for you
You ought know by now how much I love you
One thing you can be sure of
I'll never ask for more than your love

Nothing's gonna change my love for you
You ought know by now how much I love you
The world may change my whole life through
But nothing's gonna change my love for you
If the road ahead is not so easy,
Our love will lead the way for us
Like a guiding star
I'll be there for you if you should need me
You don't have to change a thing
I love you just the way you are
So come with me and share the view
I'll help you see forever too

Happy LOVE month everyone! Love like you would love any other day. Life's too short to celebrate love for only one month! ;)

Mommy Moments: New Achievement

One of my favorite quotes is by Helen Hayes :" My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success."

I have adopted the concept in some aspects of my life including parenting. Although those are the feel good moments, being praised by others is less important compared to determination and hard work.

This is my first time to join Mommy Moments I saw the link through Mommy AC - a long time online friend. I really like the concept. You may wish to tell us the new achievement of your child/ ren as well. You can go the link below.

Kylie's latest achievement is rewarded by her teacher as STAR OF THE WEEK. She became a more jolly and social person after our Turkey vacation, not to mention more relaxed to learn new things. We really should try to spend vacation more frequently.

Kylie's nth Star of the Week award - oh la la!

Similarly, Kerim finally warmed up to people - a lot! He stopped crying whenever we are in a crowd of people. More so, he is now an entertainer together with his other baby-friends.

Well, they are still clingy to Mommy - that I don't complain about! But my angels are sure paving their way to more of life's achievement.

HOORAY!
