Qatar Marine Festival 2011: Bahoor World (Shell and Pearl Balloon)

Another great science project at the Qatar Marine Festival 2011 - Bahoor World yesterday!  This might be the last for us this year! It will definitely get pretty crowded during the weekend, last three days of the festival so we better get over the fun. Aaaww! We sincerely hope that it could be a year long event!

Kylie made a shell with balloon as pearl to make the shell open and close, open and close - how scientific! First they explained the concept of balloon and why it will bursts when there's too much air!

This activity could be repeated over and over at home as we get to keep the air pump and managed to get some more balloons. We just have to get paper plates and the kids will have fun decorating!

Qatar Marine Festival 2011: Bahoor World (Volcano Making)

We have experienced another great kids play and learn activity at the Qatar Marine Festival 2011 - Bahoor World yesterday (21 March 2011). Kylie made a volcano, simulated a volcanic eruption and understood how it works and why it works like that - all about chemical reaction of baking soda and vinegar.


It was really fun to experience it with Mommy, a bunch of kids and a real science teacher. Kylie now is considering to be a scientist is the future! ;)

Qatar Marine Festival 2011: Bahoor World

Our favorite place in the Qatar Marine Festival is Bahoor World. Bahoor (sea horse) is the festival mascot. We loved how the place is focused on kids! kids! kids!

And our favorite daily event is the scientific marine workshop by Susan Mc. Grath, a teacher of physics! A truly Play and Learn Place. Workshop timings are 4:15PM; 6:15PM and 9:15PM.

This area is really close to the Nursery and Kerim's seals! A perfect place indeed. This is why we intend to visit the festival daily if we could until 26th March.
