Turkish Dishes: Spinach with Garlic and Yogurt Sauce

I love this dish but i cannot eat without garlic-yogurt. It is one of the meals that I like to eat cold.

Spinach with Garlic and Yogurt Sauce

Preparation duration:15 minutes
Cooking duration: 20 minutes

What you will need:
1 kg spinach ( I prefer frozen ones but you can opt for fresh spinach)
1 cup yogurt, whipped
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
1 table spoon salt
1/2 cup rice, rinsed
1 medium size onion, chopped
1 cup hot water

How to cook
  1. Add chopped onion into the hot pan with olive oil
  2. After onions turn pinkish, you can add red pepper paste or tomato paste into the pan.
  3. You can now add spinach into the pan for 10 minutes and then add the rice, hot water and salt. Please note that if  you buy fresh spinach , you need to wash in cold water before you can proceed.
  4. Serve the dish with garlic and yogurt.
Put left over in the fridge and can be eaten cold like cold salad.

    Afiyet Olsun!

PS: (from Pinay) This received a lot of weird look from the Pinoy uncle and aunt - it's Popeye's food - toot toot alright but it's really tastes good. A must try. Tastes good and healthy too.

PPS: And the dish has rice, what more could I ask for?
