Turkish Dishes: Cauliflower with Meat

Cauliflower with meat (with or without cauliflower is so healthy)

Cauliflower is very common in Turkish kitchen - as a meal, as a salad, or as a side dish.


What you will need:
1 medium size cauliflower
100 grams cubed beef
1 tomato- chopped( and/or 1 table spoon tomato paste )
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup vegetable oil or olive oil
1 onion-chopped
1 tablespoon salt
1 dried pepper (optional)

How to cook:
  1. Toss the meat, black pepper and salt in hot oil.
  2. After 10 minutes , you can add onion. Let it cook until onions turn pinkish. 
  3. Add hot water and the root part of the cauliflower. (The reason why we need to add the root part is because this part of the vegetable is harder than the flower part.)You can toss the flower part of the vegetable after10 minute.
  4. Cook all these ingrediants for about 20 minutes in medium heat. Periodically, check the vegetable if its cooked already. 
  5. Serve hot.
